Weather is one of the most unreliable elements that we encounter. Whether it is the occasional rain shower or an icy snow storm, having weather-resistant locks and features are important.

When looking for a water resistant lock, there are three things that should be considered. These features are durability, flexibility, and of course, protection.

For durability, the lock should be able to resist moisture, dust, salt, and extreme temperatures. A lock with rugged construction and that has been manufactured to exacting standards will be durable in any weather related situation. Things to look for include: Gaskets and internal O-rings that are precisely fitted and environmentally sound. Also, the lock materials should hold up against weather and rust– brass and stainless steel are great examples.

A lock should be flexible enough to meet whatever structural situation it is required to secure. Features such as keyed or keyless entry, tumbler combination or not are only a few that can make the difference between full protection of your valuable property and goods and not.

Of course, the final element of a good lock is the level of protection that it offers. Standard, high, and ultra-security configurations provide the right protection solution for various applications that fit most budgets.

Knowing that a weather-resistant lock will add protection to your products in the driest of conditions, as well as under wet situations will provide your customers with the peace of mind when the sun is shining or when black clouds roll in.
