Wheeling, Illinois – Illinois Lock Company, a leading manufacturer of locks to meet a wide variety of needs, recently purchased a high-performance Stratasys Objet30 Pro 3D printer. This investment is part of Illinois Lock’s ongoing commitment to new technology that will help expand its ability to provide effective products and service to its customers. The new printer will enable the company to increase the speed of prototyping of new designs and produce short-run tooling.

The Objet30 Pro combines the accuracy and versatility of a high-end rapid prototyping system with the small footprint of a desktop 3D printer. Powered by PolyJet technology, it can print using eight different 3D printing materials, including clear, high-temperature and simulated polypropylene, and features the industry’s best print resolution. This results in smooth surfaces, small moving parts and thin walls in the printed results.

The Objet30 Pro will enable Illinois Lock to produce extremely precise parts and eliminates the need for traditional machined and hand finished prototypes. This will save design time and cost and speed new products to market. The ability of Objet30 Pro to produce short-run tooling will enable the company to provide production quality parts prior to hard tooling.
